Langley Trappers Head Coach Brad Bakken recorded his 100th Pacific Junior Hockey League win when the Trappers defeated the Coastal Tsunami on Wednesday October 30th. Bakken is in his fourth season as the Trappers Head Coach assuming the position from previous Head Coach and General Manager Burt Henderson.
Bakken led the 2021-2022 Trappers team to a 33 win season, finishing first in the PJHL. They went onto win the Stonehouse Cup Trophy and represented the Pacific Junior Hockey League in the Cyclone Taylor Cup where they defeated the Revelstoke Grizzlies, Peninsula Panthers, and the Delta Ice hawks on route to the teams first ever Cyclone Taylor Cup Championship. The Following 2022-2023 season the Trappers would improve on their regular season win totals finishing the campaign with 36 wins but would ultimately fall short losing in the first round in 5 games. The 2023-2024 season saw the Trappers rebuild their roster, icing the youngest team in the Province of British Columbia, with an average age of 18.25. The team would win 25 games through the regular season and push a strong Chilliwack Jets team to 7 games in the Playoffs. The Trappers currently sit with 10 wins during the 2024-2025 season looking to build on previous years successes.
Congratulations to Brad, and the entire Trappers Coaching staff on this exciting feat!
