Awarded to the player who has major impacts on games played. It could be a big hit levied, wizard face-off stats, timely shot blocks, taking hits to make plays, as we like to say earning your receipts, scoring the coveted game winning goal, or stepping up off the ice for the team and teammates.
This year’s Impact Player of the Year plays the game with a chip on his shoulder. He played the game fast, and with skill, but also took on an important role which gave his teammates time and space with the puck. In his second season with the team, he found his place within the team dynamic by being the protector, the enforcer. He finished the season with
154 Penalties in Minutes building on last season’s numbers of 107 Penalties in Minutes. He was a finalist in the touted King of the Jungle debate while taking on the roll with humility and respect. This seasons Impact player of the year is #12 Lucas Wood!
