The Langley Trappers are looking to expand and offer more opportunities to hockey players to play for the Trappers, in the Pacific Junior Hockey League, and live in Langley. The Langley Trappers have been granted the opportunity to compete in the Hockey Canada Sanctioned Tier 1 category beginning in the 2025-2026 season. This means the Trappers are striving to compete for Provincial, Regional, and National championships in the coming seasons. In order to accomplish such desires, the Trappers need to scout and recruit the best players available to the club and offer those players a safe place to live, in our beautiful and growing community. Being a billet family to a Trappers player allows for many positive experiences. The Player, once integrated into the home becomes a big brother to your kids and a life long friend. Billets receive a monthly stipend to help cover food costs as well as amenities. The Langley trappers are looking for Volunteers and a Volunteer Coordinator. We have many volunteer opportunities available including Ticket Scanners, Securities, Will Call, Merchandise Sales, Penalty Box Attendants, Goal Judges, Photographers, Game Day Host-Hostess, Clock Operator, Statistician, Mascot, 50/50 vendor and many more! The Trappers are also looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the volunteer positions and provide communication to the volunteers regarding the changing landscape that can occur from week to week. The Langley Trappers are looking for an Education Advisor to work with our players on their high school and post secondary schooling. The Langley Trappers are looking to expand and become a destination for players to play. This means the Trappers will be welcoming players from across the Province, who may still be in high school and need help registering in a local school. Players will need a liaison to communicate with a Langley high school(s) about their course requirement’s for graduation and how they can transfer back to their home school when the season comes to an end. An Education Advisor will also be working with players who are looking to attend College or Universities with the purpose of continuing to play hockey. There are many College/University opportunities including NCAA, CIS, ACAC, BCIHL, and ACHA leagues. An Education Advisor will be tasked with obtaining the players High School grades, making a portfolio for the player, and sending their portfolio to teams and leagues he is interested in or to those who show interest in him. Being an education Advisor is a rewarding experience that offers players growth opportunities as they harness the sport of hockey to better themselves as young adults. The Langley Trappers are looking to add the position of Equipment Manager moving forward. With the growing landscape and team competitiveness, the Club is looking to add an Equipment Manager to look after the dressing room, do laundry including game jerseys & socks, practice jerseys & socks, Under gear, towels, and miscellaneous articles. The EM will be responsible for game day set up and clean up. He/she will need to know how to sharpen skates, and will need to be available for weekly home and away games. The EM will help the management staff with fixing gear, including jerseys repairs, skate rivet repairs, helmet clips, and visors. The position has opportunity to grow depending on feasibility as the team continues to grow in the coming seasons.
