Awarded to the player who made a large impact in his first season as a member of the Langley Trappers. He was a beneficiary of the team systems using them to his advantage to find open ice. He looked comfortable in high pressure situations and wanted the puck on his stick or at least, to be involved in the play. He proved to be an important piece when battling for loose pucks anywhere on the ice often extending plays because of his ability to get pucks out of tight situations. He is able to read shots and find rebounds in the slot often with yawning nets to shoot at. He skates fast, shoots hard, and wants to win. He was a Power-play mainstay, when he got his opportunity he never looked back. He can play the game with ruggedness and doesn’t slow or disappear when the going gets tough. He appeared in 40 games scoring 14 Goals and 24 Assists for 38 Regular Season Points.

The 2026 Rookie of the Year Award goes to #23 Ethan Caruso!

The top forward is a player who is responsible in all areas of play. He contributes offensively as well as defensively. He has a knack for scoring, making plays, while also delivering big hits. He is a well-liked and respected voice in the dressing room, encouraging creativity with his teammates and extended line mates. In his rookie season he quickly made a name for himself by challenging league veterans with his gritty style of play. He is quick to chirp as well often landing quick word of mouth jabs to his opponents. He plays physically and in all 200 feet of the arena. He doesn’t back down from a challenge while excelling in 1on1 battles creating a game within a game to pay attention to as a spectator. He has a great shot release, often adding a flare of offense right when the team needed a quick goal.

He finished the season with an Iron Man streak appearing in all 49 Regular Season games.

He scored 27 Goals and tallied 23 Assists for 50 Points while also accumulating 93 Penalty Minutes.

The Forward of the Year Award goes to #17 Bryson Patkau

Awarded to the player who has major impacts on games played. It could be a big hit levied, wizard face-off stats, timely shot blocks, taking hits to make plays, as we like to say earning your receipts, scoring the coveted game winning goal, or stepping up off the ice for the team and teammates.
This year’s Impact Player of the Year plays the game with a chip on his shoulder. He played the game fast, and with skill, but also took on an important role which gave his teammates time and space with the puck. In his second season with the team, he found his place within the team dynamic by being the protector, the enforcer. He finished the season with
154 Penalties in Minutes building on last season’s numbers of 107 Penalties in Minutes. He was a finalist in the touted King of the Jungle debate while taking on the roll with humility and respect. This seasons Impact player of the year is #12 Lucas Wood!

This year’s Impact Player of the Year plays the game with a chip on his shoulder. He played the game fast, and with skill, but also took on an important role which gave his teammates time and space with the puck. In his second season with the team, he found his place within the team dynamic by being the protector, the enforcer. He finished the season with 154 Penalties in Minutes building on last season’s numbers of 107 Penalties in Minutes. He was a finalist in the touted King of the Jungle debate while taking on the roll with humility and respect. This seasons Impact player of the year is #12 Lucas Wood!

This season we thought it fitting to award two volunteers because of their contributions throughout the season. Both stepped up in big ways and this individual spent a lot of time
helping the team and the players prepare for practices and games. He woke up early and stayed late after the players left. He watched and learned the standards and the way the staff did things such as set the dressing room for practices and games. It didn’t take long for him to be trusted to
do laundry; the towels, the under-gear, the jerseys and the socks. He would keep inventory of tape, Gatorade, pucks, and bottles. He took pride in making the environment for the players welcoming and clean. He even tried his hand at sharpening skates… once. He truly showed his passion for the game and for the team this season. He grew in responsibility as the season progressed and learned a lot of life lessons along the way. Rylan, The team thanks you for your efforts this season and we hope you learned leadership, responsibility, and the lesson of selflessness along the way. The second Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to Rylan Peters.

Joanne stepped into the Volunteer Coordinator role this year helping ensure that everything and everyone is where they need to be on game nights. From ticketing and 50/50 to setup and takedown — it’s a team effort, but Joanne has become a key part of making sure it all comes together. Her role has grown well beyond what was originally planned — and she’s taken it all on without hesitation. She’s become someone who can be relied on every game night — stepping in wherever needed and helping to keep everything moving.
But more than anything — Joanne cares. She cares about this team and the people in it. Her connection started with her son Brock, and even after he moved on, Joanne and Tom stayed — and now with Abbey, their daughter, involved
as well, it’s truly a family commitment. So Joanne, for everything you’ve taken on this season — for the time, the
energy, and the care you bring to this organization — thank you. Congratulations and Thank you Joanne on Volunteer of the year!

This season we have 1 graduating player—our Captain Nabeel Moledina. He dawned the nickname the ‘Nibbler’ after his first workout with Mike Thompson. He made an instant impression on the coaches because of his work ethic and love of the game. He is a natural leader and will go down in Trappers history as one of the best Captains. He played 5 seasons in the PJHL, 3 of those wearing a Trappers Logo. He played 163 Regular Season games tallying 29 Goals, 49 Assists for 78 total Points. He would also play 21 playoff games scoring 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 play-off points. Nabeel played the game the right way, by pushing himself as well as his teammates. He is a player that will be hard to replace because of the quality of athlete he is and the character he brings to the organization. We’re sad to see you go Nabeel, but glad we got to spend 3 great years with you; watching you grow into the young man you’ve become. Thank you for giving the Trappers your all every day. Welcome to the Alumni class of 2026!
